An original generated marble portrait transformed into a fine white-on-black Bayer grid. Replace the source, tune pixel size and gamma, or explore the available dithering patterns.
How this texture works
Marble Signal turns a classical marble portrait into a fine grid of white pixels on black. It uses an ordered Bayer 8x8 dither with Invert tones on, so the stone is built from white dots and the shadows stay deep black. Gamma is lowered to keep the face bright and sculpted. There is no text in this preset, only the dither screen, and you can replace the portrait with your own image.
Tips
- Dither pixel size sets the size of each white dot. Raise it for a chunky, pixel-art statue.
- Gamma is set low at 0.72. Raise it to darken the stone and bring out the shadows.
- Try the Halftone circle or Stardust options in Dither style for a softer texture.
- Turn Invert tones off to print black dots on white instead.
Questions
How do I make a white-on-black dither effect?
Keep Invert tones on with a white Foreground and a black Background, as in this preset. Load your picture into the Image slot and adjust Gamma until the subject reads clearly.
Can I add words into the dither?
Yes. Type into the Text field and change Split mode to Text in shadows or Text in highlights.
