An original tulip photograph with a warm, colour-aware grid of numeral glyphs. Replace the image, edit the character ramp and density, or fade the photo background for a pure ASCII look.
How this texture works
Tulip Study lays a fine grid of a single repeated numeral over a photograph of coral tulips and blue sky. The Character ramp is just the digit 2, so every cell that gets a glyph shows the same character, and Photo colour mixes the warm ink with the colours of the picture. The photo stays visible underneath, which makes this a colour-aware ASCII overlay rather than a full rendering.
Tips
- Type a different character or a short set into the Character ramp to change the pattern. One character keeps the grid even.
- Lower Photo background to fade the photo and leave a pure ASCII image.
- Photo colour decides how much the characters take on the colours of the picture. Set it to 0 for a single cream ink.
- Columns sets the density. Fewer columns make each numeral readable.
Questions
How do I make ASCII art in colour?
Raise Photo colour so the characters take the colours of the picture, or set Colour to original to use the picture's colours directly. Keep Photo background up if you want the photo visible behind the characters.
Can I replace the tulip photo?
Yes. Load your own picture into the Image slot. The slot also accepts a video.
