Generate a silver moiré surface with curved rows of micro-crescents. Change the column count, row spacing, crescent size, fold curvature and lighting to reshape the texture itself. The surface is computed live, without the reference photograph. Start with a free landscape photograph by Johannes Plenio on Pexels, or replace it with your own image or video. Image influence controls the treatment; set it to zero for a standalone surface. Animation brings the generated folds to life.
How this texture works
Silver Moiré generates a surface of curved rows of tiny silver crescents flowing over dark folds. The pattern is computed by the editor, not taken from a photograph. With Image influence at 100, your image or video shapes the light and the folds; set it to 0 and the surface stands on its own. The Moiré surface section controls the crescents, the rows and how strongly the surface curves.
Tips
- Column count and Row spacing set the density of the lattice. Fewer columns show each crescent clearly.
- Crescent size changes the marks themselves. Larger crescents read as scales; smaller ones as fine moiré.
- Fold curvature controls how much the rows bend over the folds.
- Soft focus blurs the lattice slightly, which helps it sit behind text.
Questions
How do I make a moiré pattern background?
Open this preset and set Image influence to 0 for a surface that does not depend on any picture. Then adjust Column count, Row spacing and Pattern angle until the moiré has the scale you need.
Can the silver pattern move?
Yes. Set Animate folds to on and the folds drift under the lattice. Motion rate controls the speed.
