A fine circular halftone with warm ivory highlights, cool blue-grey transitions and deep black valleys. Start with a headphone photograph by Adrian Regeci on Pexels, or add your own image. Replace the image or video, then edit dot size, spacing, tone and inks. Static by default; no photograph is displayed beneath the dots.
How this texture works
Satin Dots rebuilds your image or video as a fine round-dot screen on black. Bright areas become warm ivory dots and midtones turn cool blue-grey, while the deepest areas stay black. No photograph shows beneath the dots. A light organic wobble keeps the screen from looking mechanical, and a faint edge glow lifts the dots off the ground. The default picture is a pair of headphones, and it is still by default.
Tips
- Block size sets the dot size. This preset uses large dots; lower it for a finer screen.
- Block gap adds space between dots. Raise it for a cleaner, more graphic pattern.
- Warm ink split decides where ivory gives way to blue-grey. Move it to change the colour balance.
- Organic wobble shifts the dots slightly. Set it to 0 for a strict grid.
Questions
How do I make a dot pattern image for a product photo?
Load a product shot on a dark or plain background into the Image or video slot. The dots follow its tones, so clean studio lighting gives the clearest result. Adjust Block size until the product reads at the size you need.
Can I use two different colours for the dots?
Yes. Set Ink A and Ink B to your colours and use Warm ink split to decide where one turns into the other.
