A navy-to-cyan duotone portrait that smears sideways into grainy streaks. Add your own image and edit the blur, grain and inks.
About this texture
A continuous navy, indigo and cyan duotone with heavy film grain and fine scanlines. The left of the frame stays sharp, then a horizontal motion blur takes over and stretches the subject into streaks toward the right edge. Start with a generated portrait of a fictional sitter, or add your own image or video. Edit where the fade starts, how far it reaches, the streak variation, grain, scanlines and inks. Static by default.
How this texture works
Fading Blur turns your image or video into a navy, indigo and cyan duotone with heavy film grain and fine scanlines. The left part of the frame stays sharp, then a horizontal motion blur takes over and stretches the subject into streaks toward the right edge. The Fade blur section sets where the blur starts, how far it reaches and how uneven the streaks are. It is still by default.
Tips
- Fade starts at moves the point where the sharp image turns into streaks.
- Blur reach sets how long the streaks get. Streak variation makes some rows smear more than others.
- Change Ink A, Ink B and Ground to build your own duotone.
- Lower Film grain and Scanlines for a cleaner, smoother finish.
Questions
How do I make a motion blur effect that fades across a photo?
Load your picture into the Image or video slot. The blur starts partway across the frame and grows toward the right edge. Use Fade starts at to place the transition and Blur reach to set the streak length.
How do I make a duotone portrait?
This preset already maps the picture to two inks on a ground colour. Pick new colours for Ink A, Ink B and Ground, and use Contrast to set how the tones split between them.
