A black grid of tiny glyphs that lights up in organic patches of yellow, magenta, cyan, green and violet wherever the pointer passes, then fades to a faint afterglow.
About this tool
A grid of small glyphs drawn live in WebGL on a black stage: hollow rounded squares, rings, dots and squares with a dot inside. Moving the pointer across it lights the glyphs in soft, noisy patches whose colour drifts between yellow, magenta, cyan, green and violet, with the brightest cells burning almost white. Each stroke is thin at its tail and widens toward the pointer; the trail fades quickly and leaves a dim afterglow that dies away more slowly. Cell size, glyph size, brush radius, tail taper, trail length, afterglow and its fade, colour speed, colour spread, saturation, shimmer and background are editable. The grid fills any stage size, drawing stops when the trail has gone dark, rendering pauses off screen and in hidden tabs, the stand-in cursor that demos the trail stays off under reduced motion, and browsers without WebGL get a plain message instead of a broken canvas. The export is one HTML file, or a Svelte or React component.
