An independently authored code-generated interpretation of folded membranes. Curved fibres converge through layered silver and charcoal petals while spectral reflections move over their surfaces. Adjust speed, phase, scale, curl, ridge density, iridescence, exposure, saturation and palette. Fills the entire responsive editor main. Geometry and motion are approximate, not a reproduction of the reference clip. Live preview and standalone code exports use the same WebGL renderer without video, image or remote assets.
How this shader works
Iridescent Petal draws layered petals of silver and charcoal with fine curved ridges running toward their centres. Rainbow reflections move slowly across the surfaces as they shift. Everything is generated in code, with no image or video. Petal curl changes how much the shapes fold, Ridge density sets the fine lines, and the three colours set the membrane, the reflections and the background.
Tips
- Petal curl controls how tightly the petals fold. Raise it for a rose-like shape.
- Ridge density sets the number of fine curved lines on each petal.
- Lower Iridescence and Saturation for a calm silver look without rainbow colours.
- Animation offset picks a different moment of the motion, useful for choosing a still frame.
Questions
How do I make an iridescent abstract background?
Open Iridescent Petal and use Iridescence and Saturation to set how colourful the reflections are. Change the three colours in the Colors section to fit your palette, then export it as code or as a video.
Can I export it as a video?
Yes. The shader can be exported as an MP4 video, as well as an HTML file or a React or Svelte component.
