An original procedural interpretation of a cosmic filament basin, with a deep dark opening, flowing silver strands, foreground wisps and a tiny explorer for scale. Adjust depth, filament density, turbulence, starlight, colors and motion. Animation is authored from a still-image reference, not a reconstruction of source motion.
How this shader works
Astral Abyss shows silver filaments flowing down into a dark cosmic basin under a field of distant stars. Wisps drift in the foreground, and a tiny explorer stands near the edge for scale. The scene is generated in code. Basin depth, Filament density and Turbulence shape the strands, Starlight controls the stars, and two colours set the filaments and the background.
Tips
- Basin depth makes the opening look deeper or shallower.
- Turbulence decides how wild the filaments are. Lower it for smooth, falling strands.
- Starlight sets the brightness of the star field.
- Change Filaments to a warm tone, such as gold, for a different mood.
Questions
How do I make a space background for a website?
Open Astral Abyss, set Starlight and Filament density, and keep Speed low so the motion stays calm. The editor exports it as an HTML file or a React or Svelte component.
Can I make the scene bigger or smaller?
Yes. Size scales the whole composition inside the canvas.
