A 3D jellyfish swimming in place, painted by a gradient that follows how each inflated lobe faces the camera, with bands that slide as the bell folds open and shut.
About this tool
A jellyfish built in code and drawn in a single pass. Its bell is a ring of inflated lobes that hinge open and shut with every stroke, and under it hang soft tentacles and four ruffled oral arms. The colour does not come from lights: each surface takes a colour from how much it faces the camera, so every lobe gets its own glowing centre with bands crowding towards its outline, and the bands slide across the body as it swims. The animal turns slowly while the camera rises over the bell and sinks back. It opens on a soft grey stage with the Candy palette; Citrus and Lagoon are one click away, and Custom lets you set all five colours. Edge bands, colour spread, size, the number and length of the tentacles, the view angle, swim speed, stroke depth, colour flow, spin and camera sway are all editable, and the animation can be switched off for a still pose. Reduced motion shows a still frame. The export is one HTML file.
