An editable mosaic of dots, diagonal hatching, checkerboards, halftone and solid colour. Keep the colours of your photo or build a six-colour poster palette. Adjust cell size, pattern scale, line weight, tone and paper transparency.
How this texture works
True Mosaic turns your image or video into a field of small patterned cells. Each cell is filled with one of five patterns, dots, diagonal hatching, checker, halftone or solid colour, chosen by the tone of the picture underneath. Follow photo colors is high, so the mosaic keeps most of the original colours, mixed with a six-colour palette on a dark Paper color. Cell size and Pattern scale decide how fine the texture is.
Tips
- Turn single patterns off in the Patterns section to simplify the mosaic, for example dots and solid only.
- Set Follow photo colors to 0 to draw the image only with Color 1 to Color 6, like a poster print.
- Cell size sets the pixel size. Raise it for a bolder, more graphic mosaic.
- Line weight changes the thickness of the hatching and checker lines.
Questions
How do I make a pixel mosaic from a photo?
Load your picture into the Image or video slot. The cells are filled straight away. Use Cell size for the scale and the Patterns switches to choose which fills appear.
Can I use my brand colours?
Yes. Set Color 1 to Color 6 and Paper color to your palette, then lower Follow photo colors so the mosaic uses them instead of the photo's colours.
