An editable CRT texture. Replace the image or video and tune the phosphor grid, tone, curvature, zoom, tint and window reflection. Original Canvas 2D renderer.
How this texture works
Phosphor Bloom shows your image or video as if it were on an old CRT screen. A fine RGB phosphor grid covers the picture, the glass curves slightly at the edges, and a pale green tint and a soft window reflection sit on top like light in a room. The panel is short: Screen for the grid and curvature, Tone for exposure, and Glass for the tint and the shape of the reflection.
Tips
- Grid size changes the phosphor pattern. Small values look like a sharp monitor; larger values show the RGB stripes clearly.
- Set Curvature near 0 for a flat screen or raise it for a rounder tube.
- Window shape swaps the reflection: wide, small or tall window, a ceiling strip, or a soft glare.
- Change Screen tint to warm the glow, or set it close to white for a neutral screen.
Questions
How do I make a photo look like it is on a CRT TV?
Replace the sample in the Image slot with your picture. The phosphor grid, curvature and glare are applied on top straight away. Use Zoom to crop in if the edges of your picture distract from the screen look.
Does the CRT effect work on video?
Yes. The Image slot accepts a video, and the grid and reflection stay in place while the footage plays.
