An editable contour texture with bundled luminance isolines, tangent-aligned glyphs and glowing nodes. Replace the image or video and tune bands, smoothing, tone, ink and background removal. Original Canvas 2D renderer.
How this texture works
Signal Atlas turns your image or video into contour bands, like a topographic map of its brightness. Lines follow equal levels of light, grouped in bundles, and small glyphs sit along them facing the direction of each line. Red accent nodes glow at points on the map against a dark grey background. The Contours section sets how many bands there are and how smooth they run, and the Ink section picks the glyphs and colours.
Tips
- Line bands sets how many contour levels the map has, and Lines per band sets how many lines bundle into each one.
- Raise Smoothing for flowing, simplified lines, or lower it to follow small details of the picture.
- Glyph set switches the marks along the lines between binary, arrows, symbols or a mix.
- Change Hero ink to recolour the glowing accent nodes.
Questions
How do I make a topographic contour effect from a photo?
Load your picture into the Image slot. The contour lines are traced from its brightness, so a portrait or a landscape with smooth light gives clear, readable bands. Use Line bands and Band tightness to control their spacing.
Can I remove the background behind my subject?
Yes. Raise Background removal in the Finish section to drop the area around your subject.
