An editable rain texture. Replace the image or video and tune density, tone, threshold, ink and emergence. Optional looping motion with adjustable duration and speed. Original Canvas 2D renderer.
How this texture works
Ivory Rain reveals your image or video through fine ivory rain and small splashes on a near-black background. Thin streaks fall where the picture is bright enough to pass the threshold, so the subject appears out of the rain while dark areas stay empty. Density sets how many streaks there are, and Emerge controls how strongly the picture comes through them. The motion is off by default and can loop when turned on.
Tips
- Density sets the number of rain streaks. Higher values draw the picture more clearly.
- Raise Threshold to keep rain only on the brightest parts of the picture.
- Emerge controls how clearly the subject shows through the rain.
- Turn Animate on to make the rain fall. Loop duration sets the length of the loop and Speed sets the pace.
Questions
How do I make a rain effect that reveals an image?
Load your picture into the Image slot. The rain is drawn where the picture is bright, so a subject on a dark background gives the clearest reveal. Adjust Density and Emerge until it reads well.
Can the rain loop for a background video?
Yes. Set Animate to on and choose a Loop duration. The rain then repeats on that cycle.
